I can’t really answer this prompt. I don’t listen to music to get into the mood for a particular muse, I listen to music when I’ve already chosen a muse in order to get myself in whatever mood that muse would be in when the thread takes place. For example, if I were writing a scenario about Diavolo having a private meeting with someone (this happens very rarely as Diavolo would probably try to kill them unless a one-way mirror was placed between them and he was allowed to use a text-to-speech device so the other party couldn’t find out anything about his looks or his voice), I would put on the theme of the Godfather. If I were to write about Diavolo driving his fist through the back of a hapless victim’s skull and dragging his spinal cord and pulped brains out through the newly created hole, King Crimson’s hand coated in blood and cerebrospinal fluid with bone fragments sticking to his fingers, I would listen to one of the gorier scenes from the audiobook version of American Psycho. However, most of the time, I don’t even adhere to this at all. Music doesn’t really affect my ability to get into a particular muse; I just write whatever muse is relevant to whatever my friends are doing and listen to mash-ups of the Space Jam theme song or the Flintstones theme or whatever other dank memes I can find.
